Coastal Scents

I have been using Coastal Scents 88 Metal Mania alot lately to try and create different looks.  It's a great palette! I bought it on Amazon for $24.95.. and free shipping, woo! That comes out to about 28 cents a color. You can't beat that!  There are so many wearable colors... they are all a very pretty metallic, highly pigmented and blendable.  I'm pretty amazed by the quality, I assumed that this was going to be like those cheap palettes they sell around the holidays.. I have a few MAC shadows that are duped by some of these colors as well. I just ordered the Original Matte Palette, it has all the colors of the rainbow, so excited! However,  I'm worried that they might come from China, and might be the exact same thing as BH Cosmetics... and they contain parabens.. But.. oh well. :|

I've heard great things about the quality of their brushes as well, so I figured I'd try the cutest one they had.  It's the angled hot pink & black kabuki.. probably my new favorite brush.  It is an excellent buffer.  The bristles are so soft and dense.  I've washed it several times without any shedding and the dye hasn't bled. :]

[Concealers]

Concealer! YAY! I am so glad this stuff exists.. I use it to cover redness on my cheeks, to even out my skin tone, and cover blemishes and my tiny little scars from breakouts.

BeneFit- Boi-ing #02 Champagne
Neutrogena- Mineral Sheers Concealer (SPF 20) #09 Buff
Mary Kay- Signature Concealer in Ivory
Sheercover- Concealer in Light/Medium

BeneFit.. hmm.  This is stuff great!  It covers EVERYTHING and there is minimal creasing/fading.  However, I have an oily complextion, and this didn't seem to agree with my skin.  I looked like a greaseball after wearing this for a full day.  I bought it for $12 on eBay.. I will not be repurchasing!

I had such high expectations for the Neutrogena concealer, plus it was the only drugstore concealer available in a pot.  I was so dissapointed!  The formula is sticky/greasy and over creamy.  It is almost impossible to blend and it looks cakey and gross.  It comes with a "setting powder" and that makes it look even more disgusting.  Save your money, ladies.  This was $11 down the drain.  Normally Neutrogena products are pretty respectable, but this is garbage.

My husband's dad's new wife is a Mary Kay consultant and was nice enough to give to me a tube of their signature concealer.  They sell from $6-10 and so, so worth it.  All I need is two small dots for all of my face.  I use a large foundation brush to blend and cover everything.  The formula is extremely pigmented and ..somewhat thick.  I love it.

I was introduced to Sheercover by my sister-in law. :]  This is my first mineral makeup and I am quite happy with it.  This concealer in particular is incredible! It is so lightweight and creamy and covers almost everything you would want it to.  This is my go-to concealer for daily use, plus it's SPF 15.  It costs $11, I purchase it from a secondary sales person online.

[Eye Primers]

I never understood the power of eye primers until I began using them!  Back in the day I'd apply all this crazy eyeshadow, only to have it crease up and ...melt off.  I just thought that was how it was.  But, hooray! This is definately the solution.  The first primer I bought is  BeneFit - Stay Don't Stray.  There is only one color available for this primer, it is a creamy neutral tone.  It blends into your skin rather easily.  It is an excellent undereye concealer and it does a mediocre job keeping your shadow in place.  I've found that within a couple hours it wears off.  Plus, it feels like a moisturizer rather than a primer.  The packaging is somewhat hygenic, I do like the fact that it has a pump.  The only downfall is that the pump dispenses WAY too much product than necessary, it is a waste.  At around $22, this was definately a waste of money as well.  I'd stray away from this product if I were you. :]  And then, thank goodness, I purchased the most amazing eye primer known to man.  I've read reviews about it on MUA for some time, and finally went to Ulta and got it.   It is Urban Decay - Primer Potion...(in the purple tube!)  I cannot say enough about this product.  You know when you buy any type of cosmetic and you're like "Oh God, I hope this actually does what it says it's going to do.."  This actually does!  It is available in three different tones, but I bought the original one.  It goes on whitish and dries clear.  It has a subtle sticky feel to it.  You apply the product with a wand.  Once it sets it allows you to blend your shadow like normal and it stays forever.  Seriously, I passed out on the couch one night and woke up to find my eyes absolutely perfect.  The price is kind of high @ $18, but it is worth every cent. This is a must if you live in a place where the humidity destroys your makeup!
